Gulkand Lassi | Holi Special

Do you know Gulkand originates from the Persian word where Gul means Rose and Khand means Sugar. Gulkand is very popular in South Asia. It is a sweet preserve of Rose Petals thus also known as Rose Petal Jam. For this festival apart from the regular Holi Favorites like Thandai, we can also make another yummy drink, made with two main ingredients; Yogurt and Gulkand.
We have shared some yogurt drinks previously like Mango Lassi, Rossie Lassi or Cardamom Elaichi Lassi. Today's one I named as Gulkand Lassi or Rose Petal Yogurt Drink. It is very easy to make and will add colors to your day this Holi. Let's see the step by step process on how to make this coolant drink. Gulkand Lassi!


Gulkand or Rose Petal Lassi

Ingredients -

  • 1 cup Curd
  • 1 cup chilled Water
  • 1/4 cup Gulkand
  • 3 tbsp Rose Syrup
  • Crushed Dry-fruits
  • Pinch of Cardamom Powder
  • Ice cubes (optional)


Method -

Step 1. In a blender; add Curd, Water, Gulkand, a pinch of Cardamom Powder and Rose Syrup. You can also add Ice-cubes if you want.
Step 2. Blend everything until you get a smooth drink.
Step 3. Put 1 tbsp Rose Syrup on the bottom of the glass. Pour lassi into the glass and garnish with crushed Dry-fruits.
Your delicious Gulkand Lassi is ready! Serve chilled!!
