Today's recipe is Green Gram ( Moong Dal ) Pakoda also called Mangoda or Green Gram Fritters with step by step instructions.

Hello, my beautiful people!! 😍
Today's post is very special for me as in this post I am sharing my Mom's Recipe. Every year on Makar Sankranti my Mom used to make Til ke Ladoo and Mangoda. I don't like Til ke Ladoo much that's why my Mom specially made this Mangodas. This recipe is made from Moong Dal ( Green Gram ) which you can also call as Moong Dal Pakoras but in our family we call it Mangoda or Mangode. In today's post let's see how to make Mangoda. If you have any traditions on Makar Sankranti then let us know by sharing in the comments section. Without delay let's make this tasty recipe.

Mangode (Moong Dal Pakoras) | Recipe

Ingredients

  • 3 cups Moong Dal (Split Green Gram)
  • Half cup boiled Matar (Green Peas)
  • 3 finely chopped Green Chillies
  • 1 dice of Ginger
  • 2 petals of Garlic
  • 1 small chopped Onion
  • 1 bunch of finely chopped Fresh Coriander Leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for Frying

Method -

Step 1. Soak Moong Dal for at least 4-5 hours.

Step 2. In Blender; add the soaked Moong Dal, Ginger, Garlic, Green Chilies. Grind them together to get a thick paste, remember not to add water.

Step 3. Pour this mixture into the bowl; add Onion, Coriander, Green Peas, and Salt. Give it a good mix!!

Step 4. Heat the oil for frying.

Step 5. Once the oil is hot enough, pour small chunks of Mixture into the oil (you can use spoon or fingers) and fry them on medium heat until it gets golden brown.
Your tasty Mangodas are ready, serve hot with green chutney.

Note:- My mom loves Matar (Green Peas) that's why she always adds for extra taste. If you don't like it that you can totally skip the Peas.
