How To Take Care Of Yourself in Cold Weather

Hello, my beautiful people!! 😍

Today we will discuss How To Take Care of Ourselves during Cold Weathers. During Winters the cold weather just doesn't only reduce the sun hours but comes with a lot of things. Dryness on the skin, some people get the feeling of depression because of less sun, we feel more sleepy and want to stay more in the blanket, less exercise and even the body doesn't like to lose much weight this time. With all these and many more things which come with it in Winters, it is very important to take care of ourselves. So here are some of our tips -

1)  What To Eat What Not -

Winters is the time to eat warm. Warm foods are those foods that are not just served warm but they keep your body warm from inside. One of the classic food examples is Ginger. Try to incorporate Spices and Foods like Black Pepper, Ginger, Garlic, Cinnamon, Turmeric in your daily diet. Hot Soups are another good option and you can choose and customize the recipes as per your choice too.
Winters also comes with the season of Flu. Thus making small changes in daily food habits during these times keep our immunity strong. Add Iron, Zinc, and Vitamins to your food and the best way to add is to eat the foods that have those instead of supplements. Spinach, Kale, Mushrooms are a very good source of Iron, Zinc.
Dry fruits like Walnuts, Almonds, Pistachio, Figs are a must in the Winters, if consumed in moderation, as they are a very good source of Vitamins, Protein, and Fiber.
Try to control Carbs as this season body likes to hibernate more. If you want to control your weight watch out for your carbs, on the other hand, for people who want to gain some weight this is a wonderful time eating the right nutrients.

2)  Stay Hydrated -

Winters has another friend, dryness. The dry wind will make your skin dry. Although we don't like to drink that much water in this season compared to summer, but staying hydrated is a must. Drinking ample amount of water will keep you active and also safe from dryness. You can drink warm water or green tea or soups too.

3) Make Your Atmosphere Happy -

Have you heard the term SAD? SAD is not the literal sad, it is actually Seasonal Affective Disorder. The symptoms of SAD starts usually in late Fall and continue in Winters. SAD causes a feeling of depression, taking up your energy and makes you feel moody. That's why you might have seen yourself or your friends sometimes feeling low in winters as compared to summers.

So what's the solution for this temporary depression? Make your atmosphere happy. Try to go out and enjoy the things you love. Make your home a happy place. Try to engage yourself in something you love and haven't tried in for long. You can read this article for more tips - How To Be Happy Even When You Are Feeling Low

4) Pamper Your Skin -

As we have already seen that Winter comes with dryness so hydration is very important. Hydration will keep your body pampered from the inside. The same way from outside we need to take care of our skin. Putting the right choice and amount of moisturizer for winters is what is needed. I have already curated the whole list of skincare tips in one of my posts before. You can click here for more details.

5) Regular Exercise -

Winters is a season when people like to wake up late and spend more time in the blanket. Believe me, it is not easy to go to the gym and do some exercise when the weather is chilling outside. However, it is important to have at least 30 minutes of the walk even if you can't go outside, do it inside. Our body needs stretching to be effective in its work and no matter how much you want to avoid exercise and be lazy in winters, take some time for yourself.
