Vrat Aloo

Hi My beautiful friends :)
With Indian festivals going on many people are doing fasting. Today we are sharing an easy recipe to start with made up of Potatoes. It is traditionally called as Vrat Aloo. It is one of my favorite fasting recipe for two reasons. First it contains potatoes which I like very much & second it is quick to make. Lets celebrate together another monday leaving all Monday blues behind with this recipe. Vrat Aloo

Ingredients :-
  • 2 large Boiled & Chopped Potatoes
  • 2 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 tsp Roasted Cumin Seed Powder
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tsp Red Chili Powder
  • Rock Salt ( Sendha Namak ) as required
  • 3-4 Green chilies chopped
  • 2 tbsp Curd ( Optional )
  • 1 tsp Fresh Lemon Juice
  • Farali Mixture ( for Garnishing )

Method :-

Vrat Aloo - Khushi's World

Step 1.  Heat the oil in a pan.
Step 2.  Add Cumin Seeds & green Chilies & cook for a minute.
Step 3.  Add chopped Potatoes. Add all the remaining ingredients after 1 minute & let it cook for
3-4 minutes.
Step 4.  Add Curd & cook for additional 5 minutes. Here curd is optional however I prefer it as it adds a good flavor & helps in mixing the spices thoroughly.
Step 5.  Once you find the potatoes are cooked enough add lemon juice in it.
Step 6.  Garnish with Farali Mixture.

Your Vrat Aloo is ready to be served. Eat & enjoy it warm.
