Protein Rich Foods for Vegetarians and Vegans!!

One common questions being asked to many of the Vegetarian people is, How do you get Protein in your body?? Non-vegetarians have lot of options which are very high in Protein, Eggetarians too have Eggs as options which is also a very good source of Protein. What about Vegetarians & Vegans? Does Vegetarian people don't have Protein options available?? That is definitely not true & there today I am giving 5 High Protein Rich Foods options for Vegetarian people. This will help to build muscle mass both for men & women.

Protein Rich Foods for Vegetarians and Vegans!


1. Tofu / Paneer 

Many people are not aware of the difference between Tofu & Paneer. Paneer is of Indian Origin & is widely used in Indian Cooking. It is a very good source of protein. Tofu looks similar to Paneer but it is obtained from Soymilk. It is even a better option then Paneer because of its less fat content & high protein source. So next time cook something with it & get your Protein intake for the day.


2. Peanut Butter

Sandwich of peanut butter with a bread is one of the high protein rich & tasty breakfast which you can take.  Two tablespoons of creamy peanut butter provides appx 8 gms of protein. Try to use organic peanut butter or something low in trans fat so that you get more benefits out of it.


3. Quinoa

It is called as a super food. It is gluten free & high in protein, fibers & minerals. 1 cup of quinoa contains around 24 gms of protein.  Being gluten free it is excellent option for vegan people too. Being available easily in the market & easy cooking makes it in one of the top 5 in the list.


4. Black Beans

A perfect food for vegans & vegetarians with rich protein content. Also thanks to high protein content it makes you feel fuller longer. Black beans are available widely in market & there are lot of ways to put the beans in your daily food. Apart from protein black beans are very low in sodium content which makes it more healthy option as sodium has lot of adverse health affects on the body.


5. Almonds

Handful of almonds contain 6 gms of protein. It is not only high in protein but rich in magnesium, anti-oxidants etc. If I start writing down on the benefits of almonds then have to write a different article on that. Daily eat handful almonds in the morning or anytime when feeling hungry to get the goodness of nutrients.


I have listed down few of Protein rich Foods for Vegetarians however the list doesn't end here.
There are lot of other options like :-
  • Chia seeds
  • Soy milk
  • Lentils
  • Hemp seeds
  • Oatmeal
  • Spinach
  • Chickpeas
Not to mention that proteins are the building blocks of life. It is as important as any other nutrients like vitamins, minerals. I hope the above list will help you find the protein options easily next time when you want to buy in the market.
