Hi my beautiful friends :)
Apple Barfi !! When I thought of making it first I was not sure as I am not a big fan of Apples. But the way it turned out was too good. As I made this on occasion of Indian Independence Day I added tricolors to give it a special look. Lets get started.
Step 2. Add Grated Coconut & Castor Sugar & stir continuously.
Step 3. Add freshly chopped Apple & 1 tsp water. Stir continuously.
Note:- Try to cut Apple at the same time otherwise it will become black.
Tip:- If you want to cut Apple in advance, squeeze half Lemon on the chopped apple, this helps to retain apple's original color.
Step 4. Add Saffron & Cardamom (Elaichi) Powder into it & stir continuously, until the mixture absorbs water completely.
Step 5. Once the mixture is thick in consistency, take it off from the fire. Separate the mixture into 3 different parts.
Step 6. Add Orange color in one part & Green in the other part.
Step 7. Take one square tray & grease it with Ghee.
Step 8. Now 1st take the Green color part & spread the layer in the tray.
Step 9. Now take the normal part (which don't have any color) & spread the 2nd layer in the tray.
Step 10. In the last, take Orange color part & spread the last layer in the tray.
Step 11. Once it cools down, cover the tray with the plastic wrap & refrigerate it for 3-4 hrs.
Step 12. Once the barfi is set, cut into the square pieces & garnish with the almonds.
Note :- If you are using frozen Grated Coconut, it's hard to absorb the water. So once the barfi is done, throw the extra water & cook again. It will help you to make the barfi's making process fast.
You are done :)
Enjoy your Tri-Color Apple Barfi on this special Day.
