Baked Chaklis without Chakli Maker Recipe

In this article, we will see how to make Chakli without Chakli Maker. The Chakli will be Baked instead of fried.

I love Chaklis but the only problem is I didn't find Chakli Maker here. So, I decided that this Holi, I will make some Chaklis without Maker. It's neither very easy nor very tough.
Why Baked Chaklis?? Well, we all eat lots of Oily food & sweets these days, So why don't we try something healthy.

 Baked Chaklis without Chakli Maker Recipe

Ingredients:-

  • 2 cup Rice Flour 
  • 1 cup Curd
  • 2 tsp Sesame Seeds / Til
  • 1 1/2 tsp Chilli Powder
  • Pinch of Asafoetida / Hing
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp Oil for Moyan

Making Process:-

Step 1.  Preheat your oven to 360 F (180 C).
Step 2.  Take a bowl & mix all the ingredients, make a soft dough. If you need you can add water.
Step 3.  Now take a very small portion & start rolling it with the help of hand giving it the shape of the thread. Once you have your dough thread, start making the shape of Chaklis from it. Now softly press on Chaklis using a fork.
Step 4.  Bake Chaklis in a pre-heated oven for 25 mins in total, turn all the Chaklis after 15 min & then bake for 10 mins more.
Step 5.  Cool it down & you can store this in an air-tight container for a long period.

  1. Is hing necessary? And what is rice flour? Can we just grind the rice in mixer grinder to have oour rice flour ready?

      No Hing is not necessary. If you are not able to find readymade rice flour, you can definitely grind the rice well to have the flour ready
