Cold Sandwich (Healthy Version)

Hi my beautiful friends :)

As School & College season has started & so the demand of tiffins. I always get so many requests for Tiffin recipes. Well I am not a Mom yet but can totally understand how hard is to give daily tiffin or lunch box which your kid actually likes & eat, as I was also very demanding when I was a kid. Everyday I used to told to my Mommy that I want something special in tiffin.




I never like cold food & no matter how much foil you wrap or how good the tiffin quality is, the food always gets cold. The most common go to tiffin is Bread Butter as Mommies are busy too & as compared to veggies, many kids prefers eating bread butter. But as we all know Bread itself doesn't have any much of the Nutrients.

Taking all this in my mind I came to My Version of Recipe which don't take much time, busy Moms can make it in advance, Kids will like this, it's already cold recipe & it contains lots of veggies(so healthy too).

This recipe is Cold Sandwich!! You can make it in many versions. Add as many varieties of veggies you want. You can even add cheese. I don't add because I am making a very healthy version which I can eat even though I still don't like veggies. ;) You can prepare the sandwich mixture in advance & like you used to apply butter on bread, spread mixture on bread. I am using Tabasco Sauce to just give a little bit spiciness but you can totally skip this step if your kid is very small or don't like spicy food.

This Recipe is not only just for kids but also it's perfect for Breakfast, Tea Time or Picnics. :)

Ingredients  :-


  • 5-6 Wheat Bread Slices
  • 1/2 cup Chopped Red Cabbage
  • 1/2 cup Chopped Capsicum
  • 1/2 cupChopped Carrots
  • 1/2 cup Chopped Cucumber
  • 1 cup Cottage Cheese
  • 1/2 tbsp Tabasco Sauce
  • Salt To Taste
  • Black Pepper To Taste

Method :-


Step 1.  Finely chop all the veggies.
Step 2.  Mix all the Ingredients together in a bowl.
Step 3.  Add Spices & Tabasco Sauce. Mix it well. Go easy with Tabasco Sauce as it's very spicy. Your mixture is now ready
Step 4.  Spread the mixture on bread slices & make a sandwich.
Step 5.  Press the sandwich little bit.
Step 6.  Cut all the edges of the bread.
Step 7.  Slice them diagonally.

Your Cold Sandwich is ready. Serve cold!



You can make the mixture in advance & refrigerate them. And also can add as many veggies as you want. Perfect for Kid's tiffin, tea time or even party time. :)

Note :- Don't refrigerate Bread otherwise it will get dry. If you want to refrigerate then wrap with foil.
